Provides, for Year B, the same array of tools for entering into the riches of the lectionary as the same authors provided for Year A:

• a detailed scriptural commentary on the readings for each Sunday and Holy Day in Year B. This commentary is designed to bring out the riches of the text and to help both hearer and preacher to appreciate it more fully. In addition, there is an introduction to the Gospel of Mark (the Gospel for Year B) and shorter introductions to other major biblical books. Further, Fr Harrington enhances his Christmastide commentary with an analysis of the Infancy Narratives and in Holy Week he sets out the distinctive features of the various Passion Narratives.

• Philip Gleeson, lecturer in liturgy, provides a succinct introduction to each liturgical season, helping to situate the Scriptures within the worshipping life of the Christian community.
